BACKGROUND

AHabits helps people build and keep habits with a lightweight interface: a daily list, per-habit score, history charts, and a calendar heatmap. The client is designed to work well on older phones, stay ad-free, and keep data on the device.

TASKS AND CHALLENGES

Objective

Make habit tracking fast enough for daily use, with schedules that are more flexible than a simple streak calendar.

  • Habit strength that does not collapse after a short miss following a long streak
  • Schedules beyond every day—e.g. three times a week or every other day
  • Reminders and home-screen widgets so logging does not require opening the app
  • Export to CSV or SQLite so users own their history

SOLUTION

The app centers on a habit list with a week grid, then a detail view for score, history, heatmap, and best streaks. Notifications can be set per habit; colorful widgets expose check-ins and charts on the launcher. There is no account requirement and no artificial cap on how many habits you can track.

  • Score, month/year totals, and history charts per habit
  • Flexible schedules and timed reminders
  • Home-screen widgets and notification check-in
  • Offline storage with CSV / SQLite export

Our Point of View

Habit tools should stay out of the way. AHabits optimizes for speed, offline privacy, and honest progress—not streaks that punish a single missed day.
